CRCC Health and Wellbeing Grants Available

CRCC have announced a range of grants available now for groups and organisations which would like to help improve the health and wellbeing of people with care and support needs.

Grants for groups

Carers Group Grant

Grants of up to £750 are available to groups of unpaid, informal carers to pay for an activity that gives them a break from their caring role, e.g. spa day, trip to a local National Trust Garden, or a trip to the theatre.

Memory Cafe/Dementia Support Group Grant

This grant enables Memory Cafes or Dementia Support Groups in Cornwall to apply for up to £600 to help pay for running costs, training events or activities that help promote the health and wellbeing of people with dementia. New groups can apply for an additional £500 start-up fund too.

Mental Health Self-Help Group Grant

This grant enables new or established self-help groups to apply for up to £1,000 to pay for group running costs e.g. venue hire, guest speakers or resources.

Groups must consist of and directly benefit people with emotional and/or mental health issues, have a minimum of four members, and be based in Cornwall.

Grants for organisations

Carers Wellbeing Grant

Any organisation or community group that may have members or clients who are unpaid carers can apply for up to £3,000 per application, maximum £5,000 per year to pay for an activity that gives carers a break from their caring role.

Organisations or community groups might be, for example, sport clubs, support or advice organisations, CICs, etc. The activity must benefit at least 12 carers and take place in Cornwall.

Dementia Service Grant

Any organisation that can provide a service, activity or training event to at least ten memory cafés/dementia support groups can apply for a grant of up to £3,000 to pay for this provision.

The service or activity must help boost the health and wellbeing of groups of people with dementia in Cornwall and organisations must not already be commissioned to provide this service.

Together for Families Grant

The grant is aimed at Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations, already delivering, or potentially delivering, services in the community to the hardest to reach families. The grant aims to enable these organisations to build on current delivery and practice and to deliver innovative approaches which improve outcomes for families with complex needs.

Constituted organisations can apply for a grant between £500 and £7000 and can apply only once in any 12-month period. Subsequent applications must be for new initiatives or projects.

Different eligibility criteria apply for the different grants, so to check whether your organisation and scheme are eligible, visit the CRCC website. Application forms are also available there, or you can contact CRCC by email on or call on 01872 273952.
