About the Cornwall Social Enterprise Zone
Cornwall is the first and, at the moment, only nationally recognised Social Enterprise Zone in the UK. One of Social Enterprise UK’s Social Enterprise Places, Cornwall values, supports and celebrates the key role social enterprises play in the growth of Cornwall as a great place to work, live and thrive.
SE-UK Chief Executive, Peter Holbrook said it was an outstanding achievement for Cornwall and is “one of the most dynamic places in the UK for social enterprise”.
Launched in December 2013 by Nick Hurd MP, the Minister for Civil Society at that time, the Social Enterprise Zone marks Cornwall’s commitment to creating an entrepreneurial culture to drive growth, based on people and planet.
It’s also anticipated that it will attract investment and deliver sustainable prosperity for all, as well as encouraging greater inclusion and innovation across communities; developing entrepreneurial solutions to complex social problems. For more information please visit www.seuk.org.uk
